We are dedicated to providing excellent ballroom, latin, social, and wedding dance instruction in a warm, non-intimidating environment. With 14 years of combined teaching experience at both private studios and at the university level, we won't only teach you to dance, but we will make you feel comfortable dancing.
At Ballroom Philadelphia, we recommend that all students begin with an Introductory Level Ballroom class. The classes are structured to be fun, non-intimidating, and easy. It really is the best way to pick up the basics of Ballroom Dancing and you can repeat the Introductory level class as often as you'd like to build a solid base in a variety of different dances.
Here's what you'll learn in the Introductory Class:
After the introductory stage, you'll have 2 options:
Although many students decide to take 2 or 3 Introductory Level courses before moving on, if you're looking for a challenge, you can move directly to the Beginner Level Open Classes. These are drop-in classes that you can take whenever it's most convenient. All of our classes are 40 mintues long and cover 2 related dances. We begin with a brief warm up reviewing basic steps from the introductory level courses. From there, we cover 1 or 2 steps in a single dance, giving every student plenty of time to practice with different partners.
After 15 to 20 minutes, we move on to another dance. By the time class is over, students will have basic knowledge of 1-2 steps in 1-2 dances. No partner is required for these classes, and students are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Click here to see the open class schedule. The Social Dance Program is for students who want to be comfortable enough to dance to slow and fast music at weddings and other social functions, and want to be able to get that level of comfort FAST. The program is affordable and takes about a month to complete.
If the Social Program sounds like something you'd like to do, register for an introductory class today and your instructor will tell you more about the program after class. If you've already taken the Introductory Class and would like to sign up for the Social Dance Program, click here.
If after the Social Dance program you decide you want to become a great social dancer, then what you're looking for is the Bronze program.
The Bronze Program will make you a Ballroom Dancing "Black Belt". If you want to feel comfortable and confident dancing to any music with any partner at nightclubs, weddings, and other social events, the Bronze Program is what will get you to that level.
Bronze dancers develop a strong knowledge of a variety of patterns in 6-8 different dances while executing those patterns with proper technique and excellent leading and following skills.
This program is also extremely cost-effective. In addtion to saving almost 40% off the price of open classes, the speed of learning is much greater because the classes are more structured.
Most people don't know if they want to make such a commitment right off the bat, so we recommend that you take an Introductory Class to decide if Ballroom Dancing is right for you.
