We recommend that all new students take our 40 minute Introduction to Ballroom Dance class. We have a combined 14 years of teaching experience and specialize in creating a fun, warm, non-intimidating environment where absolute beginners feel comfortable and can pick up steps quickly and easily.

Like all of our classes, partners are welcome, but not required. Here are some of the things you'll learn in the class:

  • The #1 thing you can do to look like a good dancer.
  • The fastest way to learn and retain steps.
  • How to not step on your partner's feet.
  • Basic movement and traveling elements
  • Basic leading and following skills

Registration for the Introduction to Ballroom class isn't required, but it is recommended as space is limited.

As an added bonus, if you do register for an Introductory class, you can bring a partner for free! Register for your first introductory class today!

Class Rules & Dance Etiquette

  1. Street shoes are prohibited in the dance studio. Please bring an additional pair of shoes you can dance in. They do not have to be special ballroom shoes, just something that you feel comfortable moving in. All shoes should have backs and support the ankle well. No sneakers. No sandals.
  2. Look (and smell) nice. Dress up a little and remember: mints are your friends.
  3. Be nice. Don't blame your partner for not doing something right. After all, it could have been your fault.
  4. Don't teach or give pointers. I know you just want to help, but it just ends up making your partner nervous and/or self-concious. For many students, it's already a big step just coming in and taking the class.
  5. We are gay friendly! We do everything we can to build a supportive and respectful atmosphere. You may occasionally have to dance with a partner of the same sex. Please get over it.
