Groupon - Frequently Asked Questions

What classes will be available to me?

Groupon customers are welcome to take any Introductory or Beginner Level class. Click here for the schedule.

Is the Groupon redeemable for private lessons?

No, the Groupon is only valid for use in group classes. See the calendar for classes that are available to you.

Do I need special “dance shoes”?

No, just a second pair of shoes to dance in. There are a lot of barefoot dance classes taught in the space and street shoes tend to track in little bits of rock and glass.

Does my Groupon expire? And what exactly does that mean?

Yes, your Groupon does expire. If your Groupon was purchased in January or February, it will expire at the end of June. If your Groupon was purchased in May, it will expire at the end of September or October (the voucher will show the exact date). This means you have to take all of your classes by that time.

So, how will things actually go down once I try to redeem my Groupon?

Though it’s not required, we recommend that all new students register for and attend an Introductory level class. In this class, you’ll learn the basic elements common to all Ballroom dances that we’ll draw on in the Beginner level classes. After registering for, and taking your first Introductory level class, you won’t have to register for any of your remaining classes. You can just drop into any Intro or Beginner level class that fits your schedule.

I’m only interested in working on 1 dance, but I see that you only offer classes in it 3-4 times per month.

We try to cycle through all dances once per week, but the reason we switch dances so often is that it makes you a better, more versatile dancer.

For example, if you only wanted to learn ChaCha, you could attend only ChaCha classes until you used up all your Groupon classes, but you’d only learn 3-4 steps in doing so. On the other hand, if you attended 2 ChaCha classes, 1 Rumba class, and 1 Mambo class, you’d learn 3 times the amount of steps while being just as good at ChaCha.

Learning addtional dances isn’t only easy, it’s simply the presents the most value for your money and your effort.

I’m seeing a lot about your New Student Special on your website, can I use my Groupon towards this?

No, the Groupon is only good for Introductory or Beginner level Group classes. Though the New Student Special is the best way to jump start your dancing, the Groupon is still an incredible value. If you’re having a little trouble with some things in your Groupon classes, you can certainly sign up on the New Student Special and we can work on that. You’re also welcome to do the New Student Special first, before taking any of your Groupon classes to get a head start and avoid the most common mistakes.
